Description:
The UK-based SME seeking partners is a 3D biomaterials company with a core expertise in the development and manufacture of synthetic 3D peptide hydrogels. These novel patented 3D peptide hydrogels can be chemically and mechanically modified to mimic different tissues and provide a cost effective, animal free 3D matrix to support a range of exciting high growth applications including;
· 3D Cell Culture
· 3D Bioprinting
· Tissue Engineering -Y- Regeneration
· In vitro Models for Drug and Cosmetic Screening
· Drug Delivery

The hydrogel technology has been shown to promote cell adhesion, growth and proliferation in a range of applications, with current programmes indicating success with a variety of cell types including stem cells, neuronal cells, keratinocytes, and hepatocytes. The materials are currently being used in the study of diseases such as osteoarthritis and cancer, as well as the development of skin models and spinal cord repair treatments.

The key advantages of the SME´s hydrogel technology are that the materials are:
· Fully synthetic - They contain no animal-derived material, but are composed of biologically relevant peptides which display consistent physical properties when manufactured.
· Totally Tuneable - Stiffness and chemistry environment can be tuned to match cell environment.
· Flexible Handling - Provided as a powder. Culture media induces gelation, no temperature or pH dependence. They are injectable.

The SME possesses significant expertise in the manufacture and formulation development of peptide hydrogels and has the capabilities to design and develop bespoke formulations to meet clients´ specific requirements. In order to validate its hydrogel technology as an effective synthetic 3D matrix for a variety of cell culture applications, the company is seeking partners in the areas of cell culture, in vitro assays, and bioprinting who wish to develop more physiologically relevant in vitro models, who require an alternative 3D matrix/ scaffold to that which they are currently using or are developing a new application in which a hydrogel scaffold would be beneficial.

The SME will provide its expertise, guidance and technical support to help partners to validate the hydrogel technology in their specific application. The partner company should be able to provide feedback on the performance of the hydrogel technology compared with their traditional methods.
