A Lithuanian company is looking for a tank walls thickness monitoring technique and seeks for licence agreement or technological support
Summary:
A Lithuanian company which is developing engineering systems and prototypes seeks for license agreement or technological support for monitoring the walls thickness of tanks made from glass reinforced plastics. The company is looking for a technological cooperation or license agreement with a company supplying or commonly developing a hand held system for the monitoring of the thickness of wastewater tanks wall.
Description:
A Lithuanian company which is developing an engineering systems and prototypes seeks for licence agreement or technological support for monitoring the walls thickness of tanks made from Glass Reinforced Plastics.
The Lithuanian company is looking for a hand-held device for the wall thickness measurement of wastewater tanks and equipment.
To assure the quality of tanks made from Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) there is a need to measure wall thickness by Non-destructive testing methods. Two types of GRP manufacturing methods are used: 1) spray-up (chop) method; 2) filament winding. Thickness of tanks wall varies from 0.5-3 cm. Most of the time tanks are with closed ends and it´s impossible to put any screen inside tank for any measurement method.
There are some variety of ultrasound-based devices available on the market at the moment, but it is not suitable solution for this case because of structural properties of glass reinforced plastic.

The Lithuanian company is looking for a technological company to supply or commonly develop a hand-held system for the monitoring of the thickness of wastewater tanks wall. Working under the technical cooperation or license agreement the company is looking for a hand-held and portable monitoring system for tanks wall thickness measurement. The system should be autonomous and affordable.
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought:
Potential partner should have the non-destructive testing technology or know how in this area of modified plastics. Ideally, the partner will share good practice experience and will be closely involved with developing the system.
