Description:
The Singapore-based provider has developed a software which conducts building performance analysis (e.g. sun path analysis, solar radiation, envelope thermal transfer value, wind simulation and daylight simulation) from importing Building Information Models (BIM) models.

The company is interested to develop a fire safety management module which performs fire simulation and evacuation modeling to integrate with their software suite.

This module needs to comply with comply with Singapore´s Fire Safety Engineering Guidelines (2015).

The company is keen to explore any of the following types of partnerships:
i) Licensing
ii) R-Y-D Collaboration
iii) Technical cooperation
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought:
The proposed Building Information Model (BIM)-based fire safety and management software module which will be integrated with the company´s existing software should comply with the following requirements:

The proposed solution should allow users (i.e. fire safety engineers) to easily assess the feasibility of the proposed fire engineering design based on whether the Available Safety Egress Time (ASET) exceeds the Required Safety Egress Time (RSET) for occupants in a particular area of a building when a fire breaks out.

The proposed solution should be able to inter-operate with existing software to allow exporting of Building Information Model (BIM), 3D models and geometric data required to perform the following tasks:

o Simulation of potential fire scenarios
o Evacuation Modeling
o Computation of the RSET
o Computation of the ASET

Computation of the RSET and ASET should be consistent with the fire code and Singapore Fire Regulations Standards.

The proposed solution should incorporate Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling tool (either Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) or Firefoam) to perform fire/smoke simulation.

The proposed solution should incorporate a suitable evacuation modeling tool whereby the method of validation and verification is consistent with Singapore Fire Safety Engineering Guidelines (http://www.scdf.gov.sg/sites/www.scdf.gov.sg/files/Singapore Fire Safety Engineering Guidelines 2015_0.pdf).

A graphic user interface should also be developed for this software module to enhance the software´s user-friendliness.
The software module is preferred to be written in C#.
