Description:
A Moldovan university is planning to develop a project for adequate monitoring of meat quality. The objective of the project is to establish the microbial load indices of cattle and swine carcasses and the risks of toxic infections and zoonoses in humans.The first step of the new service will be to monitor the origin of carcasses and the conditions in which the animals are slaughtered. The university is looking for research cooperation in order to develop the next stage of the project:
- analyse the sanitary-epidemiological measures taken by the veterinary service for preventing food toxic infections,
- analyse the delivery, storage and marketing of carcasses in the central agricultural market of the Municipality of Chisinau,
- measure the presence and diversity of bacterial microflora on the surface of as well as inside the carcasses.
For successful implementation of the project the university is looking for partners in European Union and former USSR countries for further research and development of the project. The partners sought should contribute with:
- expertise in the development of the know-how,
- training the personnel managing the monitoring of animals before scarifying, carcasses sampling and performing microbiological investigations;
- nutrient environments; some laboratory equipment, reagents, consumables;
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought:
The potential partner is expected to provide know-how for the improvement of the service, training the personnel for implementing the project and provide:
- ordinary, deferentially, selective nutrient environments,
- special discs for test of microbial antibiosensitivity,
- thermostats,
- counter for counting colonies,
- consumables for simple collections and for laboratory microbiological investigations.

Partner sought

Type and Role of Partner Sought:
For successful implementation of the project the university is looking for partners in European Union and former USSR countries who can provide:
