Looking for scientific partner specialized in daily use of flow cytometry analysis to qualify living spermatic cells of animal.
Summary:
In order to increase knowledge about the physiology of mammalian cells, a French company specialized in artificial insemination, is seeking a long term partner with a strong scientific and technical expertise in flow cytometry analysis to jointly study the physiological criteria of animal spermatic cells. The aim is to identify new criteria for the qualification of animal semen to estimate more accurately its fertilizing capacity. A Technical cooperation and Know-How transfer are sought.
Description:
As part of the analysis of the quality of animal semen, a French company specializing in artificial insemination aims to evaluate the parameters that define the physiological state of living spermatic cells. The research project focuses on the observation of cellular changes that can be used as an indicator of fertilizing capacity or the conservation status of semen. The French company is willing to share knowledge with a long-term scientific partner concerning these cellular changes and also about methods to measure them.

The research project involves knowledge and expertise in the field of animal cell biology and more specifically the physiology of living sperm cells. This is firstly to identify the physiological changes associated with different states of the cell cycle of the sperm. Knowledge exchange will also include the identification of methods to assess its changes.

The challenge is to develop new analytical protocols for use with living cells in animal semen in order to refine the current measures (concentration, capacitation...) by biochemical analysis and to be able to measure new parameters to improve or predict fertilizing capacity of living cells, e.g.:
- Organization phospholipidic
- Membrane integrity
- Calcic exchanges,
- Bacterial pressure...

The expertise and the share of know-how include: materials, technology and procedures of biochemical and cellular assays will complement the knowledge acquired. The expertise sought is part of the scope of science and laboratory measurements. Skills in the implementation analysis by flow cytometry are particularly targeted (modulation measurement parameters, use of different fluorochromes...).

The French company seeks a Technical Cooperation and Know-how Transfer with a scientific partner (Technical Centre, University ...) but does not want to cooperate with CRO (Contract Research Organization).
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought:
- Knowledge in cell biology, biological animal reproduction
- Expertise in cellular assays
- Experience semen analysis
- Expertise in flow cytometric analysis
