Description:
Small protein (ca. 13 kDa) isolated from chicken eggs - ovocystatine OCS shows high inhibitora activity against cystein proteinase (esp. bacterial gingapaines). Company developed unique technology of isolation of OCS in mild contitions without using any organic solvents. Obtained active compound was "in vitro" tested for its activity against visuses, bacteria, and yeasts and fungi. Based on the results a set of products for oral- and skin- care / hygiene was developed and submitted for "in vivo" tests. Active compound OCS may be used in pharmacy, cosmetology and in pet care produts instead of toxic chlorhexidine.
Advantages and Innovations:
Offered active compound - OCS - shows significantly decreased toxicity in comparison to chlorhexidine - an antibiotic commonly-used in oral- and skin- care products. Thus, the compound may be safety used in products for children and dedicated to animals.
