A French biotech SME has developed a process and a technology that allow cold-free protection of biospecimens (RNA, DNA, bacteria, virus...) at room temperature. This encapsulation solution under controlled atmosphere, into small, sealed, corrosion-proof metallic capsules provides a full protection from degradation factors (water, oxygen...). This SME is opened to technical cooperation,license or research cooperation agreements with partners involved in life sciences and biotechnology fields
The French SME, specialized in biotechnologies, has developed a innovative technology and the associated process to prevent DNA and RNA from being altered by any degradation factors such as water, oxygen, light...

The conventional way to store DNA or RNA is based on solutions (i.e alcohol or water) at - 20°C or -80°C.
Although the technologies based on the use and analysis of nucleic acids have rapidly evolved, procedures fo DNA and RNA preservation have remained unchanged over the last 20 years.
These conventional procedures are space-demanding, difficult to automate, and are costly in terms of equipment, energy and maintenance. Moreover they may expose samples to the risks of degradation, contamination and loss in the event of serious material accidents (i.e. loss of energy sources for example).
Cold-free preservation of DNA and RNA is a major technological, economical and ecological challenge for academic laboratories, hospitals, biological resource centres, biotechnology companies, forensic laboratories, pharmaceutical companies.
This French SME has developed a technology that secures long term preservation of dried DNA and RNA at room temperature. This worldwide patented technology is realized into small sealed, corrosion-proof metallic capsules that contain desiccated nucleic acids, under a controlled atmosphere. Theses capsules offer the convenience of preserving the DNA and RNA of any species (human, animal, vegetal, microorganisms) in a form that is compatible with all applications used for downstream analysis.
Some partners such as museum, hospitals with diagnostic platform, biobanks, forensic laboratories use these French technologies with success.

This SME is looking for partners with needs for safe and stable preservation of biospecimens (DNA, RNA, proteins, biopsies, microorganisms...) who can´t or don´t want to manage issues with freezing process.

- They are easy to handle, store and transport safely:
Therefore, the capsules can be stored in SBS format 96 well racks at room temperature without need for a temperature or humidity control device.

- In addition, the laser-marked codes on the capsule enable easy traceability and inventory of each biosample.

- After opening with the shell opener, nucleic acids are rehydrated by simple addition of water or a buffer solution.
