Description:
The Russian company from Chelyabinsk is engaged in the development, production and introduction of the energy-efficient dispatching systems and intelligent management of the street lighting. The company has developed automated control system outdoor lighting networks with the possibility of the two-way data transmission. Currently, more and more requirements are imposed on the efficient use of the electricity for road and highway lighting. Cost optimization for the outdoor lighting is being successfully implemented with the help of the energy-efficient light sources as part of the automation control System for External Lighting Networks. The street lighting controlling systems utilized now use high-frequency transmission, which causes the attenuation of the signal and reduces the communication distance while using different types of lamps. A fundamentally new method of data transmission via the supply mains, applying low-frequency voltage (50 Hz) and current electricity signals, without the form deviation of the supply voltage, is implemented in this project. The company offers a multi-level system of regulation of outdoor lighting, which has a wide range of working characteristics with a bi-directional data transfer (feed-back ability). The developed system consists of the following components:
- Units of the local dimming of lighting fixtures.
- Blocks of the centralized dimming of the light line.
- Geographic information system software for the remote management and control.
Implemented design choices, compared to the analogues, have the following advantages:
- Help to avoid the signal attenuation in hybrid networks with different types of lighting fixtures.
- Provide a wide communication range and high communication quality in fulfilling the requirements of the electromagnetic compatibility.
The company is looking for the partners for the research cooperation agreement. The developer will design and produce the system components. The target partner should provide the assemble work of the system. The Russian company in its turn will conduct the consulting and scientific management. The end result will be the creation of the industrial prototype ready for serial production and commercialization both in Russia and in Europe.
Advantages and Innovations:
The scientific novelty of the proposed solutions is in developing new algorithms for the optimal control of lighting in the bilevel structure of the adaptive network control. The offered innovative solution gives, in comparison to the analogues, a number of advantages:

- Possibility of the local modulating control of the luminous power; - Increased range and quality of communication.
- Independence of the quality of communication from the types of lamps.
