Un centro tecnológico español que trabaja en cinco sectores económicos (industria, energía y medioambiente, construcción e infraestructuras, agroalimentación, y salud y calidad de vida) ofrece un sistema de medición de humedad a compañías y administraciones públicas interesadas en desarrollar nuevos productos y tecnologías para medir la calidad y seguridad de sus carreteras y mejorar así la seguridad vial. Los sistemas de medición de humedad son dispositivos que miden el porcentaje de agua de un lugar o sustancia. La información obtenida se emplea para decidir si un lugar específico, infraestructura, etc. está listo para su uso, si el nivel de humedad es lo suficientemente elevado para aconsejar que su uso no es seguro o si se necesita un material complementario. El centro tecnológico busca empresas y administraciones públicas especializadas en infraestructuras viarias para establecer acuerdos de servicio, así como entidades de este ámbito interesadas en establecer acuerdos de cooperación en materia de investigación.

Description:
Spanish horizontally integrated technology centre is specialized in offering global solutions to companies. It provides them with its 20 years of experience in developments, processes, systems and products. It operates in five economic sectors: industry, energy and environment, construction and infrastructure, agrofood, health and quality of life.

The humidity measurement systems are devices used to measure the water percentage located in any place or substance. The information obtained is used to conclude if a concrete place, infrastructure, etc is ready to be used, or if the humidity level is high enough not to advice a safe use of it, or if an additional use of another complementary material is needed.

Currently, the state of the art on humidity measurement has been developed. It counts with serious improvements on measurements of processing tools, laboratory tools, portable instruments, etc. It all includes high speed instruments to be adapted to the machinery or production process. However, no many improvements have been implemented on the development of humidity measurement applied on roads.

The Spanish technology centre has broad experience in the development of a humidity measurement system on the terrain, especially on its application to roads were not much has been experienced until the present time. All the process since installation until a final diagnosis is included.

The technology centre offers its technology and know-how to companies and public administrations interested in:
- Investing on roads infrastructures.
- Knowing about their roads present situation.
- Detecting all problems related with humidity on roads.
- Preserving security on the roads.
- Saving cost with preventive measures before other need to be taken.

Partners sought:
- For service agreement are public administrations and companies, especially on the construction and infrastructure sector. The outcome expected form the service agreement depends on the client´s needs (optimisation of the process, new formulation...)
- The technology centre is also interested in research cooperation agreement with entities (companies, universities or research and technology centres) interested in developing a project about developing new products for future calls in Horizon 2020 in the field of road infrastructure.
Advantages and Innovations:
Humidity measurement systems have been always implemented to control, mainly, the humidity on the air or in any other topics where humidity could influence one situation. Nevertheless, until the present time, not many things have been developed to measure the humidity that can be contained on roads.

Using the measurement system that the technology centre has elaborated on the field of road security reinforce the role of public administrations and other companies on the topic that want to invest on this issues and then fight against one of the main reasons of death in Spain and abroad.

Technology centre´s humidity measurement system is equipped with:
- A humidity sensor adapted to the specific infrastructure.
- A software system for signal conditioning and for gathering all the required data.
- A datalogger.
- A system to measure the temperature and conductivity of the inspection point.
