Una empresa macedonia ha desarrollado un sistema de tratamiento de lodos y aguas residuales industriales. Este sistema se basa en la utilización de un nuevo método de fermentación anaerobia combinado con biofiltración continua y sin consumo energético, y contiene tres elementos: un clarificador anaerobio, un tanque de lodos y biofiltros. El sistema es subterráneo por razones de aislamiento térmico y estéticas. Se buscan empresas del sector de tratamiento de aguas residuales para establecer acuerdos de cooperación técnica, licencia y comercialización.


System for waste water treatment with continuous bio-filtration and without energy consumption
A small research company from Macedonia has developed a system for sewage and industrial wastewater treatment. System uses novel method for anaerobic fermentation system combined with bio-filtration, that offers shorten retention time, better purification efficiency and gas production.
The company is looking for companies involved in wastewater treatment for technical cooperation, licensing agreement or commercial agreement.
Sewage and industrial wastewater treatment is the process of removing contaminants from wastewater and household sewage. Its objective is to produce an environmentally-safe fluid waste stream (or treated effluent) and a solid waste (or treated sludge) suitable for disposal or reuse (usually as farm fertilizer). One of the solutions is treatment with anaerobic process, which takes part in a natural circle of the organic matter. Usually anaerobic fermentation is complementary process to aerobic purification of wastewater. By using new concept it is now possible to utilize only anaerobic process.

A Macedonian company has developed a novel system based only on an anaerobic method for waste water treatment with continuous bio-filtration and without energy consumption during the process. The company possess relevant experience in developing sewage and industrial wastewater treatment solutions and technical consultancy. It is owned and managed by an established researcher and inventor with more than 40 years of experience in the field and possessing also several patents at national and international level.

The proposed solution is a result of intensive research on the use of different methods for anaerobic fermentation in wastewater treatments. The offered system contains three part system:
· Anaerobic clarifier
· Sludge tank
· Field of bio filters
System is underground because of the thermal isolation and aesthetics reasons. System also can function without pumping station, but under condition that hydraulic drop of the terrain is bigger than 600 mm H2O. For small stations (max. 500 P.E.) as construction material can be used concrete or steel and for the bigger only concrete.

Working principle
These stations run with continuous bio filtration in the psichrophylic conditions (10° C - 25° C). The process unwinds well, regardless to all seasons of the year.
Waste water strains through the grindings where it remains only the gross particles (wood, paper, plastics) and enters in anaerobic clarifier. Here, unwinds separation of the floating particles (fats, protein´s etc) and heavily particles from the water which falls to the bottom and forms sludge with 15-20% solids. Fats and proteins are subject to hydrophylization on the superior part of the clarifier and in the primary bio filters. Water with the soluble and colloidal substances enters in primary, secondary and tertiary bio filters. Here, organic matter is transformed in biogas by anaerobic fermentation. The total retention time in station is 4,7 h. This parameter determines the dimensions and the constructive area of the new biological station: shorter retention time - smaller the constructive area.

By-products of the anaerobic purification plant:
- Sludge - The quantity of sludge which is obtained in this stations is with very small quantities in comparison with the sludge from aerobic station ones. This sludge is stabilized over 85% and can be utilized as a fertilizer.
- Biogas - Until now there were no possibilities to use the biogas so it leaves in atmosphere. The measure of the CH4 indicates concentration of 87%. In experimental conditions, biogas composition was:
o Methane, CH4 87,2%,
o Carbon dioxide, CO2 6%,
o Nitrogen, N2 5,4%
o Oxygen, O2 1,4%.

Advantages and Innovations:
- Continuous work without energy consumption
- High level of purification efficiency
- Short retention time (3,5 ÷ 4,5h)
- Runs on low temperature and works, regardless to outside conditions (during all year)
- There is no maintenance need, expensive equipment and skilled personal
- The anaerobic stations are 3-4 times smaller than the aerobic ones
- They are underground and don´t disturb the view of the surroundings and can be installed near populated areas
- No odor or insects, unlike the aerobic ones where they appear when the plant is out of order
- The anaerobic treatment plant produces 5-10 times less quantity of sludge comparing to aerobic treatment.
- Bio gas production
- Separated sludge can be used as fertilizer
