Controller and manager systems for moorings on sailing harbours
A Spanish company has designed a very innovative solution to manage all logistic matters on sailing port or similar, providing smart and usefully information about all logistic parameters like wasting water, light among others on marinas. The system can be extrapolating to other uses, so that, industries and academics are sought for the adoption, development of the technologies proposed, under technical cooperation, license, manufacturing or commercial (with technical assistance) agreements.
Technology company founded in Spain in 2002, whose primary mission is the highly engineered development for business and industry, is looking for partners to accomplish a long term relationship. The company is made by a team of telecommunications and computer science engineers who have worked in many different subjects.

This system provides intelligence to conventional water and electricity supplies for moorings in marinas. Through a self-planned and free-band wireless network, you have total control of supplies in the marina anytime and anywhere, providing great value services for both operators and boat owners.

System operating principle:
The operational system is based on a self-configuring network architecture, implementing a communication protocol that makes the system always works, even when there is some damage or vulnerabilities to the port. The system continues working against possible: electricity blackouts, cable cuts in the rush, flood pipes, Interferences or decoupling among others.

The philosophy of the ad hoc networks deployed in the network protocol used by this system makes the system more reliable the larger the installation is. This makes maintenance easier. The communications system is based on nodes that use radio frequency free band, so it is not necessary to pay for data transmission. Its communication protocol works similarly to the Internet.

The supply points form a communications network where each dock is a network node. Each of these nodes is able to send or receive information at any point. The central node of the network, usually installed in the harbor station, will receive all the meter readings of electricity and water then it will send all this information to the central server.

The communication protocol provides that when a node contains a counter reading it is sent directly by RF (Radio frequency) to the central node. Each node has a radio range of hundreds of meters in free space, so most of the time the system operates in this mode, updating all the system information in real time. Generally, radio frequency systems tend to give more assurance against errors, due the problem is not in any of the wiring points distributed throughout the port. Maintenance is reduced to verify the sender and receiver. This greatly reduced cost.
In contrast, radiofrequency systems have the handicap of the nodes furthest from the central node must be able to get enough signal strength. The communication protocol provides a solution to this approach by providing the system based on intelligent behavior for self-configuring network routing management.

Location Case Study:
When any adversity either a node (Supply Turret Mooring 1) is unable to communicate with the central node, then it begins its operation based on a smart routing protocol to achieve its goal: to get their meter reading to the central node.
This is done as follows: the first thing is to launch a multicast signal so you can hear every node around. Any node closest (Turret Supplies 2 - Node 2) to listen to this multicast signal means that the Node 1 could not send your reading directly to the central node, then Node 2 will act as a repeater, picking up a meter reading of Node 1 and sending the signal directly to the central node.

The strength of the system lies in the intelligent routing capability built into each of the nodes. It is a network that is capable of responding to environmental adversities and intelligently adaptively solves any communication problems.
In a conventional system (radio or cable based) without a network intelligence, if the source node fails the central node will not recive the information.
The innovative solution network architecture resolves those problems using secure data transmition and routing nodes.

Ad-hoc network lets system be more reliable the larger the installation is. This gets a great comfort to the customer, and also for the maintainer and the controller.
